1986 LA CASA PALESTRA BENDING BARCELONA PAVILION [OMA] / DJ ARCHITECTURE

Interesante propuesta de OMA para la XVII Triennale di Milano, que bajo el lema "Il Progetto Domestico" llamó a 26 arquitectos o equipos de arquitectos a la reformulación de 26 situaciones domésticas concretas... Bajo el slogan de "la Casa Palestra" OMA realizó una copia transformada del pabellón de Barcelona para transformarla en una casa gimnasio... estas fueron sus palabras en torno al proyecto...

A slice of modernity. In the recent attacks, modern architecture is always presented as lifeless, puritannical, empty and uninhabitated. It has always been our intuition however, that modern architecture is in itself a hedonistic movement... we try to illustrate this point by bending the Barcelona Pavilion and systematically develop a project of its all human occupancy related to physical culture in the widest possible sense of the word. The house will show its perfect appropiateness for even the most suggestive aspects of contemporary culture..."
