1973 HINCHABLE VIAJANTE [David Mc Garber + Paul J Peters]

This was the masters or doctoral project by a pair of architectural students [David Mc Garber + Paul J Peters]. Warner Bros. funded their project. The project was to prove the feasibility of "double wall air structures", WITH OUT AIRLOCKS. There were 3 basic shapes: dome, half tube, and flat walls. The total length was 100 yards(?) & the pyramid was 44' high. It was named "XANAZONE"
These photos were taken in "Red Cliffs" area of Red Rock Canyon State Park, Calif.
To recoup their investment, Warner Bros. designed the interior to be a Traveling interactive entertainment piece. Enter thru the small dome (with tongue) with a spectacular "Egyption sarcophagus' then small tube with the "cloud chamber" (see photo), then into the larger dome, then into the large tube (a "pinball" game, that reacts to the visitors), then into the 44' high pyramid, where visitors watched a short, wide-screen, film by Chuck Braverman, that takes the viewers thru an automobile accident, where they are catapulted through the windshield, and into a "slit-scan" universe.
In the end, because it hadn't undergone extensive, fire dept testing, the show was shut down.
I, Ken Rogers, was the photographer documenting the project.
