1990 The House is an Electronic Device For Living In [Honorable Mention] Constantin Savkin

Proposal for the 1990 Shinkenchiku contest: " The House like an electronic Device to live in him "

Savkin's proposal shows the housing as a screen mosaic composed by scenes of the whole life of the occupants... A personal but public Big Brother!!!

"An electronic device for living in is a patch-work quilt.

An electronic scheme which is penetrating the house can perceive and memorize events related to the dwelling and its residents.

This scheme encodes the information about the life of the dwellers and transfers it to the façade (a screen in the state of integral images.

Like a patch-work quilt it represents a complicated memory device accumulating information in the state of pieces of cloth accompanying their master or masters in the course of their life-time.

The exterior coloured but integral beauty of the patch-work quilt is just a screen of a complicated memory device whose function is much more profound than only to preserve physical heat.

Looking at their house its residents can say: it’s our life."
